Racist and Discriminatory Statements Trump Presidential Kickoff, and its No Laughing Matter.

Normally, when a candidate announces a bid for the White House, they surround themselves with family, kiss babies, and make promises that they usually can’t possibly keep. We get it. I am uber-proud to be an American, and perhaps I take the running for the office of the the President too seriously. Today’s headlines are filled with joking references to Donald (Biggest A**hole Ever) Trump’s laughable and absurd entry into the race for the GOP nomination. The only problem I have with all the laughter, even with my comedy bromance with Jon Stewart in mind, is that the laughter should be replaced by anger and loud denouncement from the Republican party and all Americans. Full disclosure: I am am a proud immigration attorney who fights for law-abiding hard working people that pay taxes to have a better future. I prefer not to target a particular party. But the Republican Party really should have its head and other parts examined if it allows Mr.Trump to participate in the debates unless he retracts his comments from yesterday.

A little history. In 2012, Romney called for self-deportation as the solution to the illegal or undocumented population estimated at 11 million in the US, Obama won a whopping 71% of the Latino vote to just 27% to Romney. Trashing Latinos is not a path to the Casa Blanca folks. It’s a political reality. But forget that. This is more about the ignorant vitriolic hatred Trump spewed. He made fun of Asians. He ridiculed Saudi Arabia, one of our few allies in a volatile Middle East. But he saved his choices words for Mexico. And I quote:

“The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. [Applause] Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people. ”

I can’t laugh. I work too hard actually studying the facts and working with many Mexican clients. Most are more law abiding on average than US citizens. No one in the Republican Party, that I can see, in terms of a a prominent official or body, has condemned this hateful and factually incorrect idiocy. I always have ignored Trump as any sort of legit political analyst, much less politician. But if you are going to run for the highest office in my country, then I personally condemn his remarks as deeply offensive to me as an American. Make America great Again (his slogan)? I’m all for it. Just know sir, that you have zero chance of winning because Latinos vote my racist amigo. And I am not alone in this analysis. Read the Washington Post article below for more analysis. And Mr. Trump, f*ck off you racista pig.
